Dr. Anthony Patel was born and raised in the Chicago area, where much of his extended family still resides. He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and double majored in Biochemistry and Psychology. He then completed his dental education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he concurrently earned his Master of Science degree in Education.
Dr. Patel was awarded a full scholarship for all four years of dental school by the United States Navy Dental Corps. Upon graduation, he was sworn in as a Lieutenant and started his career as a general dentist at Naval Dental Center Great Lakes. As a result of his extensive clinical training, he was selected to serve a three-year tour as the Division Officer onboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in Seattle, Washington. During his deployments, he was able to experience the rich and historical cultures of Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bahrain and Australia. Over his entire naval career, Dr. Patel earned numerous awards, service medals, and commendations, including the title of Surface Warfare Officer.
Upon completion of his active duty military obligation, Dr. Patel attended the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), where he received his specialty training in orthodontics and was selected as the Chief Resident. He continued as a dental officer in the Active Reserve at Lackland Air Force Base, where he was promoted to the rank of Major. His background in education allowed him to participate as a lecturer to dental students and his efforts lead his peers to create the Award for Excellence in Orthodontic Education in his name, which is presented annually by Dr. Patel to a graduating orthodontic resident. Dr. Patel currently contributes his time to UTHSCSA as a Clinical Assistant Professor, where he teaches about practice management and supervises orthodontic residents in the use of Invisalign and the Damon® Smile.
Dr. Patel has three boys, Caden (20), Cameron (17) and Jordan (9). His most valued free time is spent with his wonderful family building lasting memories. Dr. Patel is a huge sports fan and you'll often find him outdoors with his boys playing golf, basketball, football and baseball. He is a die-hard Chicago sports fan and enjoys attending collegiate and professional sporting events and anything related to fitness. One of his greatest lifetime memories was with his loving father as they witnessed the Chicago Cubs win Game 7 of the 2016 World Series to earn their first championship in 108 years!

By the end of the appointment, I liked them so much that I may or may not have invited them to my wedding. 💍🤣The front desk staff was amazing, the office ran like a well-oiled machine, and everything was seamless from start to finish. Highly recommend Dr. Patel and his staff! I have had a great experience with Invisalign - he listened to my concerns, explained everything thoroughly, and transformed my smile in less than a year. The change I see in the mirror is amazing and I’m so glad I found this team to accomplish it!

Dr. Patel is so sensitive to my daughter’s feelings and fears and explains every single thing and answers all my questions so gently and detailed. He truly cares and everyone there feels like family, so helpful and kind.
